PS3 Gets Netflix
Seems a recent rumor reguarding the streaming movie service from Netflix coming to the PS3 has been confirmed. A statement from SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton puts all the speculation to rest.
“The PS3 has always been about more than just gaming, and it will soon be the only platform in the industry to offer consumers such a variety of convenient options for enjoying movies and TV shows.”
“Whether you want to watch content on Blu-ray disc and DVD, download it from the PlayStation Network’s video delivery service, or stream videos instantly from Netflix, the PS3 system is the only solution that offers it all.”
Although an exact date for the service going live on the PS3 was not confirmed, it was noted that the service will be available sometime in Novemember and will cost $8.99 a month. You can however be notified when it does go live by signing up right here.
