Burial-Grounds Tribute Page

This page is dedicated to the Burial-Grounds.com website and community, and the custom Quake 3 maps and other projects that were created as a direct result of their existence. I started Burial-Grounds due to my love of the game Quake 3, the community that developed from its creation, and the interest I had in running Quake 3 servers with custom user created content on them.

Within this page you will find a list of all of the maps, images and movies that community members of Burial-Grounds.com created, with descriptions, screenshots, download links, and a history of how and why they were created. I’m hoping if nothing else this will be nostalgic for those of you who still commune at Burial-Grounds, and perhaps it will be an archive for new people to explore and gain a new appreciation for all the hard work that went in to these maps.

Burial Grounds

jaxdm4_v21 released March 23, 2001 by: Jax_Gator

This is the map that started it all. A respected member of the Burial-Grounds.com community, Jax_Gator pays tribute Burial-Grounds in his 4th custom Quake 3 map. Set in a graveyard with crypts and a mausoleum, the Burial Grounds contains the names of members from the Burial-Grounds server community. With a beautiful sky box, some fancy brushwork and custom models, and this map shaped up to be a real winner. This map became one of the most revered maps on the Burial-Grounds servers, and was just the beginning of more great maps to come from Jax.Unfortunately for the Quake 3 community, Jax left to pursue other hobbies and live life in the “real world”, but this map will go on to be one of my favorite and most nostalgic maps to ever come out of the Burial-Grounds.com mapping community.

  1. [...] for the page soon, as I have a lot more things I’d like to cover. Well, without further ado, The Burial-Grounds Tribute Page! Bookmark To « New Iron Man Trailer - - (No Ratings Yet)  Loading … Sorry, [...]

  2. Awesome tribute, we should also mention the maps we played a lot but weren’t made by us like Hope, Heavy Duty, and Overkill. Are there any archived stats of what the favorite maps on the servers were? I would say overkill’s gotta be right up there.

PS here’s a link to QuakeFu on youtube…Thanks
